Ski trekking – over mountains and glaciers to the original Inuit settlements
Boundless expanse
Encounter the sheer infinite wideness of the snow and ice world by trekking several days with pulka and skis across glaciated mountains. In the area of Tasiilaq, the experienced ski tourer has the option of either single- day tours or various multi-day tours. You will be rewarded with fantastic views over fjords, ice bergs and the inland ice shield.
In addition to an overnight stay in a tent or hut, there is an option to stay in one of the small villages or with a Greenlandic family. The fascinating beauty of the snow and ice covered landscape and the hearty mentality of the indigenous people will change your perception of life.

Equipment rental
The Red House Expedition service rents equipment for tours and glacier tours. You should ideally bring your own ski boots and avalanche equipment. Pulkas are available for rent for the multi-day tours, too.
Tour variety
You can start your ski trekking tour directly at the Red House. We are glad to provide advise about routes, snow and weather conditions and accommodation during your tour.
Tour to Tinit at the Sermilik fjord
The idyllic village Tiniteqilaaq, located at the wonderful Sermilikfjord, can be reached in two days with the ski. From there you can enjoy the spectacular view, which ranges from the so-called ice fjord, with thick coverage of icebergs and ice sheets, up to the Greenlandic continental ice shield. Around 100 people live in Tinit (the locals shorten the name like this) and make their living by hunting. The settlement provides the basic infrastructure with post office, school, service house, little supermarket and sheltered boat jetty.
